Viola and Viola
The title of my midterm audio editing project will be Viola and Viola. The music is inspired by my flamenco dancing teacher, Viola, and my learning process. It is a coincidnece that my English name is the same as hers and both of our names from A Midsummer Night's Dream. My teacher allows me to record her demonstration in every class. The music will consist of some conversation and almost every sound during the class. I will also add some guitar sounds from Logic Express. The music will stress presenting tempos. 12 beat rhythms are the fundamental meter of flamenco. These will be the basic structure of the music
Bunun's Voice

The Bunun tribe is one of Taiwanese aborigine groups. They live in the mountains and are si,ilar to Indians. The musical bow is one of the Bunun's tranditional string instruments. It is made of bamboo and a string. The string comes from a herbaceous plant, Alpinia speciosa. "The scale of Bunun is mainly composed of natural overtones(do, mi, sol, do), chorusing is extremely common for tribe people. Many ballads of Bunn tribe are extremely similar but the harmony is quite emphasized by the tribe people." The music Bunun's voice is inspired by the tribe and the special sound of musical bow.

The closet sound and the farthest sound
Before I was sleeping, i could hear that the closest sound was my breathing. I tried to hear the farthest sound. In the beginning I thought it was from my neighbor's air conditioner then it became an airplane's engine sound. Finally, I heard the sound which is from far ...far away. It was my mother and my sister's smiling sound. It was from the other side of the USA. The sound was very far but also very close to me.

A Blue Planet

A Blue Planet_humans is an experimental audio artwork. It consists of three main sound tracks: ocean sounds, human sounds, and TV sounds. It tries to convey what the Earth looks like to aliens. If aliens watch the Earth from other planets, they probably can only see a blue planet which is covered by ocean and clouds. That is why one of the main sound tracks is ocean sound. Another important element is recorded sound. Several people say a word, "human ", by speaking different language. They attempt to tell aliens about the existence of humans. There is a secondary recorded sound. It was recorded from my TV. I continued to record every channel's sound, at least three seconds, then selected some of them. Each of them presents a human event which happened in different location on the Earth now. Hope you will like it. :)
